Bersatu Crisis: Lembah Pantai, Larut Divisions Dissolved With Immediate Effect

Kuala lumpur: Bersatu's Lembah Pantai and Larut divisions have announced their dissolution with immediate effect. According to BERNAMA News Agency, a video posted on Bersatu's official Facebook page revealed that the Larut division leadership decided to dissolve due to a loss of confidence in party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Larut division deputy chief Mohd Noh Md Daud stated that the decision came after receiving a full mandate from leaders at various levels within the division. He noted that 48 branches under Larut had declared the dissolution after losing confidence in the leadership under Muhyiddin. The decision was further influenced by the dismissal of deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin and Larut division chief Mohd Hassundi Hamzah. In a separate broadcast, Lembah Pantai Bersatu chief Datuk Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin explained that the decision to dissolve the division was made voluntarily, with a notification letter to be sent to the Bersatu headquarters. He expressed gratitude for t he opportunities provided by Bersatu and mentioned a continued commitment to contributing to the local community through non-governmental organisations. Muqharabbin also conveyed well wishes to the party and expressed hope for future engagements on different platforms. The announcement followed Bersatu's dismissal of 17 members on Friday, including several leaders from the party's Supreme Council. The dismissals involved four members of parliament and two state assemblymen. Among those dismissed were Hamzah, who is also the Opposition Leader in Parliament, Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, Padang Rengas MP Kapten Azahari Hasan, and Gerik MP Fathul Huzir Ayob. Sungai Manik assemblyman and Supreme Council member Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin, Bemban assemblyman and Melaka state opposition leader Dr Mohd Yadzil Yaakub, and Sabah Bersatu secretary and Libaran division chief Yunus Nurdin were also dismissed. The memberships were terminated for violating Clause 9.1.4 of the Bersatu Constitution. Howeve r, the dismissed members have the right to appeal to the party's Appeals Board within 14 days from the date of the notification.
