Bernama’s Commitment to Unity Shines During National Day Celebrations

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) will continue to play a key role in strengthening the narrative of unity and boosting the spirit of National Day through content featured across all social media platforms. Bernama’s commitment to this cause was evident during the agency-level National Day celebration at Wisma Bernama, where staff participation was notably high.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bernama’s chief executive officer, Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, emphasized the agency’s dedication to upholding the national agenda by showcasing reports and programs related to unity and nationhood. She expressed her belief that promoting narratives that ignite the spirit of unity can lead to a deeply ingrained sense of togetherness among Malaysians. Her observations were reinforced by the enthusiastic participation of Bernama staff in the National Day celebrations, an event marked by independence-themed performances and competitions.

Nur-ul Afida highlighted the display of patriotism and love for the country among the staff, who worked together creatively to ensure the celebration’s success. She expressed her joy at witnessing such a high level of patriotism, particularly during the National Month, which serves as a reminder of the country’s 68 years of independence. She also urged the younger generation to appreciate the meaning of independence with pride and to respect the national flag, the Jalur Gemilang, as the nation prepared to celebrate National Day on Sunday.

The celebrations featured several competitions, with the CEO Office Team winning the best performance award in the Inter-Department Merdeka Stage Competition, earning RM1,000 in cash. The Editorial Department and the Management Services and Finance Department followed closely with prizes of RM800 and RM300, respectively. In the best costume competition, Technical and Operations Unit assistant executive Aizuddin Azali won RM500 in cash, while Media Relations and Event Management Division Editorial executive Vivie Emirza Eka Mohamad Suliman and Senior Customer Service executive from the Photo Marketing Unit Hamdanawal Muhamad Sukri received RM300 and RM200, respectively.
