Kuala lumpur: Bernama's success in winning 11 awards at the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI)-Petronas Malaysian Journalism Awards 2025 proves that quality reporting and accurate narratives will receive the recognition they deserve, says Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah. He expressed hope that the achievement would serve as a morale booster for the national news agency's staff to continue producing higher-quality and more comprehensive reports in the future.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abdul Halim stated that Bernama prioritizes integrity and delivers highly comprehensive news content, establishing itself as a premier source of information for listeners and readers. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Bernama team, especially under the leadership of Bernama Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin and Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, sharing in their joy over the accomplishment.
Abdul Halim also expressed optimism that Bernama would continue to achieve greater success in the future, inspiring other staff to attain similar excellence. At the event, Bernama secured 11 awards, comprising three gold, two silver, and six bronze medals, with Bernama Radio contributing seven awards, including all three gold medals.
Meanwhile, Nur-ul Afida emphasized that the achievement demonstrated the high standards met by the content produced by Bernama Radio. She noted that the radio platform's success is attributed to thorough research and fact-checking for every topic, which she observes as a regular listener.
Nur-ul Afida also extended her congratulations to the Bernama Radio team and staff from other platforms who won silver and bronze awards. She expressed hope that this success would continue into the next year and encouraged all Bernama staff to be inspired by the achievement to strive for similar excellence.
