Petaling jaya: Bernama sports journalist Muhammad Zulkarnain Mohd Azman won the Best Sports Coverage Award in the Print Media category at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Media Awards 2026 here tonight. He received the accolade for his article titled "MBPJ Terus Taja Wai Ching, Promosi Petaling Jaya Di Pentas Dunia" and was awarded a trophy, a certificate of appreciation, and RM1,000 in cash by Petaling Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohamad Zahri Samingon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Zulkarnain expressed his gratitude, thanking everyone who supported him, particularly his editors, teammates, and family. He acknowledged their role in his journey and mentioned that the award would motivate him to continue producing high-quality work with a positive societal impact.

The MBPJ Media Awards 2026 included 14 categories, such as special reports, feature writing, visual journalism, sports coverage, and entertainment media, along with several special recognition awards. The event was organized to acknowledge media practitioners' contributions in sharing information about MBPJ's services, initiatives, and Petaling Jaya's urban development agenda with the public.
