KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) clinched the Audio and Digital Media Excellence Award at the Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) Collaborators’ Awards 2023/2024 event, held at Sasana Kijang, Bank Negara Malaysia, here today. The accolade underscores Bernama’s pivotal role in facilitating public engagement through audio and digital platforms since 2023.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the award was presented by AKPK chief executive officer Azaddin Ngah Tasir to Bernama’s Head of TV and Radio Broadcasting, Mohd Shukri Ishak. This recognition highlights Bernama’s steadfast commitment to offering a platform for AKPK to connect with the public effectively.

Additionally, the Communications Ministry was honored with the Distinguished Amplifier Award. This award acknowledged its strategic partnership and comprehensive support in broadcasting AKPK’s public service announcements via mainstream television channels. Such efforts have significantly bolstered financial manage
ment awareness, contributing to AKPK’s mission.

In his address, Azaddin emphasized the importance of the awards, during which 32 accolades were distributed among 103 organizations, including the Key Partnership Impact Award. The awards align with the theme ‘Growing with a Purpose’, reflecting the collaborative spirit and impact of the partnerships.

Azaddin remarked, ‘To all our collaborators, you are not just part of AKPK’s journey, but you are at the heart of it. Your contributions, regardless of size, create ripples that reach every corner of our nation. As we move forward, let us remember that our work is not just about helping individuals manage debt or make better financial decisions.’

Meanwhile, Mohd Shukri expressed that the award was a testament to Bernama’s dedication and commitment as a crucial platform for spreading information on credit counselling and debt management through its collaboration with AKPK.
