Bernama Radio Leader Azlan Idris Passes Away at 57

Kuala lumpur: Bernama Head of Radio Azlan Idris died at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) early this morning. Family members confirmed the passing of Azlan, 57, who was among the earliest individuals to join Bernama Radio following its establishment in 2007.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, throughout his service, Azlan played a pivotal role in shaping the operational direction of the radio station. He was also instrumental in formulating strategies to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of Bernama Radio amid mounting challenges faced by the national broadcasting industry following the rapid expansion of digital technology.

Azlan was first appointed as a part-time producer and presenter at Bernama Radio on August 27, 2007. He had also previously served with television broadcasters TV3 and NTV7.

He is survived by his wife, Wan Syahrina Wan Ab Rahman, who is Bernama TV Channel and Content Manager, and four children. Details of the funeral arrangements will be announced later.
