Kuala Lumpur: News reports by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) are highly significant to Istana Negara, said Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Datuk Wira Zailani Hashim. He highlighted that Bernama is among the media organizations maintaining close relationships and cooperation with the palace.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zailani stated that since the previous year, Istana Negara has been distributing bubur lambuk, with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim personally contributing funds as a gesture of appreciation to organizations, including Bernama, that have maintained a close relationship and provided consistent cooperation with the palace. “That is His Majesty’s order, including for Bernama, as we recognize that Bernama’s news reports are highly significant to Istana Negara and His Majesty personally. We hope this small contribution of bubur lambuk will have a meaningful impact on the Bernama team,” he said.

Zailani made these remarks after distributing 250 packs of bubur lambuk, made using a special recipe from the Johor palace, to the news agency staff at Wisma Bernama. Present at the event were Bernama’s deputy editor-in-chief (News Services) Nasriah Darus and News Services executive editor Mohd Haikal Mohd Isa.

He further mentioned that during this Ramadan, Istana Negara plans to distribute more than 6,000 packs of bubur lambuk at selected locations, with consent from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim. Specifically, Istana Negara distributes 750 packs of bubur lambuk to the public every Tuesday and Thursday.

Additionally, the Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development contributed 300 iftar food packs to Bernama staff. The ministry’s Corporate Communication Unit senior public relations officer, Norlida Mohd Ibrahim, expressed that this contribution was a gesture of appreciation for Bernama staff, who have significantly promoted the ministry’s activities.
