Bernama Motorcycle Club Supports PAYASUM with Generous Donation

Melaka: The Bernama Motorcycle Club (BMC) handed over a donation to Lembaga Pengurusan dan Kebajikan Anak Yatim dan Miskin Islam (PAYASUM) in Sungai Udang here today. Its president, Amrizan Madian, stated that the donation was part of BMC’s activities under its Ziarah Kasih programme and marked the club’s closing event for the year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amrizan Madian emphasized that the donation handover is part of BMC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) following a visitation programme for Bernama retirees around Melaka. The contribution stems from a successful fundraising initiative collected over two months, involving not only BMC members but also Bernama staff.

Amrizan highlighted that such programmes would be ongoing next year to support the less fortunate, including orphans and the elderly. BMC, officially established on August 31, 2023, now boasts nearly 100 members, comprising Bernama staff and retirees. The club engages in motorcycle tours and convoys, fostering friendship among members through various initiatives.

Meanwhile, PAYASUM manager Amirudin Md Sareh expressed that the organization always welcomes contributions from different parties to ensure the welfare of orphans and the poor in the welfare home. The received contributions significantly aid in increasing management funds to cover operational costs.

Amirudin also noted that the visit by BMC members on diverse motorcycles, including high-powered ones, delighted the orphans and less fortunate individuals, as it was their first experience with a motorcycle convoy visit. Currently, 47 orphans and poor children of various ages reside in the welfare home, established in 1963.
