Kuala lumpur: The Bernama Mobile Studio (BMS) has proven to be more than just a strategic asset in strengthening on-location news coverage since its launch on June 3, with strong demand underscoring its potential to expand mobile broadcasting services. BMS production coordinator Muhammad Syukri Khairulannuar said the encouraging response reflected the growing demand for a mobile studio that enabled clients to conduct recording and broadcasting directly at event venues.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Syukri emphasized the BMS's strong potential to expand broadcasting operations while enabling more flexible and faster coverage from virtually any location. "The key advantage of the BMS is that we can bring the studio directly to the venue without requiring guests to come to Wisma Bernama. This makes recording sessions, interviews, and live broadcasts more convenient, especially for programmes involving prominent figures or key stakeholders," he said. He was speaking to Bernama on the sidelines of the launch of the 2026 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang (MPBKKJG) campaign at the Sultan Azlan Shah Ministry of Health Training Institute (ILKKM SAS) here today.
The BMS, launched by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil on June 3 last year, is a mobile news facility that also functions as a portable audio recording studio for off-site productions. The RM1.2 million motorhome owned by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) is equipped for multi-camera live broadcasts and can operate in areas without electricity, making it suitable for disaster coverage and assignments in remote locations.
Muhammad Syukri mentioned that the BMS had been deployed for official assignments at various locations, including last year's National Day celebration, the UTCON Energy Transition Conference, and the Defence Services Asia (DSA) exhibition held in April. He noted that the BMS was not limited to serving government ministries and agencies but was also available to organisations and individuals seeking news coverage and production services.
"We offer several service packages that can be tailored to clients' requirements, whether for recordings, interviews, podcasts, or live broadcasts," he said. On the National Month launch, Muhammad Syukri stated that the BMS's participation in the event also served as a platform to showcase the mobile studio to the public and provide a better understanding of its functions and services. "Through programmes like this, we can bring the BMS closer to the public while creating greater awareness among those interested in the services we offer," he added.
