Bernama Leadership Meets Johor Menteri Besar to Discuss Strategic Cooperation

Johor bahru: The top management of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) today paid a courtesy call on Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi at his official residence in Saujana. The delegation, led by Bernama Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, included Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, Acting Deputy Editor-in-Chief of News Services Mohd Shukri Ishak, Head of Corporate Strategy Mariati Mohd Arif, and Bernama Johor Bureau Chief Hasnah Jusid.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this meeting marked the first-ever engagement between Bernama's top management and the Johor state government. The discussions aimed to strengthen strategic relations and bilateral cooperation, focusing on delivering authentic and accurate information to the public. Key topics included potential collaborative coverage and Bernama's role in the Visit Johor Year 2026 campaign, with emphasis on expanding coverage of tourism, the economy, and state development through various media platforms.

The Bernama delegation also engaged with Onn Hafiz on the impact of Johor's rapid development and the implementation of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). They highlighted the need for more in-depth and analytical economic news coverage to reflect these developments.

Looking ahead, Bernama will organize the National Journalists Day (HAWANA) 2025 Roadshow with Polytechnic Students Series 2 at Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan in Pasir Gudang. The event, scheduled from 8 am to 4 pm, aims to raise public awareness, particularly among students, about the responsibilities of journalists in delivering accurate and ethical information, while supporting national development through authentic news dissemination.
