Kota kinabalu: The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) celebrated an outstanding achievement at the Kinabalu Press Awards (KPA) 2025, securing two main awards and 11 merit awards during the event held here tonight.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bernama Sabah Bureau Chief Fadzli Ramli emerged victorious in two main categories. He won the Business and Economic Reporting (Bahasa Melayu) award for his insightful article “SESB Menerangi Impian Rakyat Sabah,” which explored the significant contributions of Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) in advancing electrification and energy development in Sabah. Additionally, Fadzli was honored with the Sports Journalism Award (Bahasa Melayu) for “Anak Sabah Perlihat Keunikan Busana Malaysia di Olimpik Paris 2024,” a piece that highlighted the cultural impact and global representation of Malaysian attire by Sabahan athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Rohana Nasrah, another prominent figure from Bernama, claimed four merit awards in various categories, including Ente
rtainment, Culture and Arts (Bahasa Melayu), and Business and Economic Reporting (Bahasa Melayu and Broadcasting). In the Broadcasting category, Rohana shared her accolade with colleagues Muhammad Ramzi Kassem and Asfarizam Abdullah.
Arthur Edward also made his mark by winning two merit awards in Entertainment, Culture and Arts (Bahasa Melayu) and Environmental Journalism (Bahasa Melayu). Fadzli added to his achievements with two merit awards, collaborating with Khatijah Jistoh in the Best News (Bahasa Melayu) category and excelling in Business and Economic Reporting (English).
Adding to the list of achievements, Noorazlina Jindeh secured a merit award in the Best News (Bahasa Melayu) category. Fadzli and Arthur teamed up once again to win in the Feature and News Feature (Bahasa Melayu) category, while Arjasneh Ahmad’s skills were recognized in the Best Picture category, contributing to Bernama’s remarkable success at the awards.
The winners were presented with certificates and cash prizes by Sabah Tourism
, Culture and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, who represented Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. The event was attended by notable figures such as Sabah Journalists Association (SJA) president Mariah Doksil and Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) president Datuk Yong Soo Heong.
