BDB Lands RM11.5 Million Contract for Integrated Business Centre at Kedah Rubber City

Padang Terap:Bina Darulaman Bhd (BDB), through its subsidiary BDB Synergy Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a contract worth RM11.5 million by the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) to construct the Integrated Business Centre (IBC) at Kedah Rubber City (KRC) in Padang Terap.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the project is set to be completed within an 18-month period from the date of site possession. The work encompasses the construction and completion of the IBC building, along with external works, electrical and mechanical installations, piling works, and related activities.

BDB Group's chief executive officer, Che Abdul Khalid Md Din, stated that the contract highlights BDB Synergy's expertise in handling engineering and construction projects, including those commissioned by federal government agencies. He emphasized that the RM11.5 million contract is a testament to the trust placed in BDB Group by both the Kedah state government and federal agencies in supporting infrastructure development.

The IBC project aligns with BDB Synergy's strategy to reinforce its core engineering and construction business while expanding its involvement in strategic infrastructure projects within Kedah. KRC, situated in Bukit Ketapang, Padang Terap, is intended to promote development in eastern Kedah and foster balanced economic growth between the state's regions.

BDB Synergy, a G7 contractor with over 44 years of experience, is well-versed in large-scale infrastructure projects. One of its significant projects nearing completion is the Pelubang Water Treatment Plant upgrading and pipeline network installation, valued at RM431 million and commissioned by the Kedah state government.

Che Abdul Khalid further noted that the new contract enhances BDB Synergy's track record in executing construction projects in strategic development areas. He assured that BDB Synergy will utilize its expertise to ensure the IBC project's timely and quality completion, adhering to NCIA's requirements and prioritizing quality, safety, governance, and compliance throughout the process.
