Kuala Lumpur: Local airline Batik Air will offer fixed airfares of RM319 to Sarawak and RM379 to Sabah during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced today. He said the initiative provides a fair, transparent and affordable travel option during the peak festive period.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the airline has also increased flight frequencies, with up to 140 additional services to key domestic destinations, including Kota Bharu, Alor Setar, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Sibu, Sandakan, and Tawau. Loke noted that these additional flights will offer greater flexibility and convenience, ensuring more Malaysians can return home for the celebrations.

With this expansion, Batik Air is adding over 22,000 additional seats during the peak travel period, further enhancing accessibility and ensuring a smoother travel experience for passengers. Loke stated that the airline’s expanding network and commitment to passenger experience have strengthened its role in Malaysia’s aviation landscape.

Furthermore, Loke emphasized that the airline’s growth is a testament to its dedication to providing greater travel options. He encouraged airlines to continue adopting fair and transparent pricing strategies to enhance connectivity within Malaysia and beyond.
