Kuala lumpur: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is planning to hire an additional men’s doubles coach to further bolster the department. BAM secretary-general Datuk Kenny Goh explained that this decision comes in response to doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky’s request to provide equal attention to every men’s pair and ensure more comprehensive monitoring.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kenny confirmed that there is indeed a request from Rexy Mainaky to bring in another coach. The association is currently in the process of interviewing several candidates to fill this position. This move aims to address the current imbalance in the ratio of coaches to players, which currently stands at two coaches for 10 pairs.
Kenny further elaborated that increasing the number of coaches is essential to conduct training in a more focused and effective manner. The decision is aimed at enhancing the overall training environment for the players.
In response to inquiries regarding the final list of players who will represent the country at the Thailand SEA Games scheduled for December 9-20, Kenny stated that an official announcement will be made by Saturday at the latest.
