BAM Deliberates Over New Women’s Singles Coach Following Jeffer’s Departure

Kuala Lumpur: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is taking its time in selecting a new women’s singles coach after Jeffer Rosobin’s recent departure. National singles head coach Kenneth Jonassen emphasized that while replacing Jeffer is important, the process will be undertaken carefully to ensure minimal disruption to the women’s singles department.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Jonassen discussed the approach to finding a new coach during a media session after a national badminton team training at Academy Badminton Malaysia. He highlighted the importance of evaluating the current setup and choosing the right candidate to align with the team’s future needs. Jonassen expressed that the transition provides an opportunity to reassess their strategy.

BAM announced last Friday that Jeffer, the previous coach, resigned due to family commitments, marking the end of his tenure. Jonassen mentioned that he intends to involve the women’s singles players in the selection process, seeking their input on potential coaching candidates. He believes that including the players’ perspectives is crucial for their development into top competitors.

In the interim, Misbun Ramdan Misbun will oversee the women’s singles sessions until Jonassen returns from the European tour tournament.
