Terengganu: Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFC) today announced the appointment of Badrul Afzan Razali as the head coach of the Turtles for the 2025/2026 season. Acting chief executive officer of TFCSB Syahrizan Mohd Zain stated that the appointment will be effective from July 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Syahrizan Mohd Zain emphasized that Badrul Afzan, who served as the interim coach for Terengganu FC last season, will now have the responsibility of assembling the Turtles squad. This includes selecting members of his coaching staff and players. The decision to appoint him was made after considering several factors to ensure the club can progress effectively in the Malaysia League competition.

Training for TFC is set to commence on July 1, and Syahrizan expressed hope that Badrul Afzan can maintain his performance and lead the team to success this season.

Badrul Afzan conveyed optimism about elevating the Turtles, who finished fifth in the 2024/2025 Super League, to new heights this season. He mentioned plans to introduce new faces to the team in pursuit of the Super League title and qualification for ASEAN and Asian championship slots.

He expressed gratitude to the club for entrusting him with the role of managing the main Terengganu team and, despite the challenges ahead, he is determined to improve on last season’s performance.
