Jakarta:Awantec Systems Sdn Bhd (Awantec) has been honored with the Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education Award at the 2026 Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) Digital AI Awards in Jakarta, Indonesia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the award acknowledges Awantec's initiative, 'Accelerating AI Literacy in Malaysian Higher Education', which has been implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). This initiative spans 20 public universities, equipping students and faculty with advanced AI tools.

The initiative includes Pendidik AI (Google AI Pro), which aids educators in enhancing teaching, research, and academic workflows. Additionally, Siswa AI (Gemini Notebook Enterprise) provides students with essential skills in research, information synthesis, and critical thinking.

Awantec's group chief executive officer, Azizah Ali, stated that this recognition affirms the company's dedication to creating an AI-ready Malaysia. The focus is not just on technology provision but also on building the necessary knowledge, confidence, and capabilities for responsible AI use, thus preparing Malaysia's higher education for an AI-driven future.

The Siswa AI program is further supported by webinars, activation roadshows, and interactive pop-up booths across campuses, offering students practical guidance on AI application.
