Awantec Maintains Profitability In First Quarter, Advances AI Initiatives

Kuala lumpur: AwanBiru Technology Bhd (Awantec) posted a profit after tax (PAT) of RM1.5 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026 (1Q 2026), supported by sustained contributions from the group's core operations and its strategic expansion into delivering artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for key accounts.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the information and communication technology (ICT) service and talent management company announced its plans to continue scaling its technological initiatives across AI, cybersecurity, and cloud-managed services. This expansion aims to capitalize on the increasing adoption of digital solutions within both government and private sectors.

The company is actively engaging with government agencies and private enterprises to drive digital innovation through its generative AI and agentic AI immersion programs. These initiatives are designed to accelerate the integration of advanced cloud and AI capabilities within organizations, reinforcing Awantec's position as a trusted partner in Malaysia's digital transformation agenda.

Awantec's group chief executive officer, Azizah Ali, stated that with its resilient balance sheet, strong technical capabilities, and continued focus on high-growth digital technology segments, the group is confident in its ability to sustain operational momentum and deliver long-term value creation.

The company also announced a change in its financial year-end from June 30 to December 31, as announced on October 16, 2025. Consequently, Awantec noted that there is no comparable financial information available for the preceding quarter.
