Avoid Using Religion As A Tool For Conflict, Urges Aaron

Kuala lumpur: Malaysians have been urged not to use religion as a tool to incite conflict or disputes, particularly on social media, but instead to collectively reject hatred, provocation, stereotypes, and prejudice to preserve national harmony. National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang emphasized the importance of unity amid the nation's diversity of races and religions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aaron stated that the diversity present in Malaysia should serve as a bridge uniting society while fostering compassion, noble virtues, and mutual respect among the populace. He described the country's religious, racial, and cultural diversity as an invaluable blessing that enriches the national identity and serves as a cornerstone for building a strong, harmonious, and prosperous nation.

In a Facebook post made in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration on Sunday, Aaron expressed his hope that the spirit of unity would continue to flourish among Malaysians for a peaceful, prosperous, and united Malaysia. He highlighted that harmony and mutual understanding among followers of different religions form the foundation of the nation's prosperity and stability.

Aaron also extended Thaipusam greetings to all Hindu Malaysians, expressing his hope that the celebration would be observed with reflection and peace of mind, bringing blessings to individuals, families, and the community.
