Batu Berendam:An accident on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman claimed the life of an assistant medical officer and left four others injured, including three children.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the incident occurred at 650 am when the 32-year-old victim was riding a motorcycle from the direction of Sutera Wangi towards Peringgit. The victim collided with a car driven by a 35-year-old woman who was turning into a junction at Taman Ikhsan. The motorcycle failed to brake in time, resulting in a crash into the car's left side.
The police confirmed that the car's driver, a housewife, was en route to deliver her children to school. The three young passengers in the car, aged nine and ten, sustained head lacerations, with one child also suffering an ear injury. All four were taken to Melaka Hospital for treatment and are reported to be in the Green Zone.
The deceased's body was transported to the Melaka Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem examination. The case is currently under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
