Asian Games: Rexy Urges Players To Revisit Past Successes Ahead Of Aichi-Nagoya 2026

Kuala lumpur: National doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky has urged Malaysian players to revisit their top performances as they gear up for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. He believes recalling past successes will boost the players' confidence and motivation ahead of the Games.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rexy is focused on refreshing players' memories to help them understand their past performances and the reasons behind their playing style and mindset on the court. This approach aims to enhance their readiness for the upcoming event. He emphasized the importance of not only looking at their playing style but also understanding the mindset and behavior during crucial moments in matches.

Speaking to reporters at the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM) in Bukit Kiara, Rexy mentioned that coaches will review past match videos to analyze both technique and the players' mindset in crucial moments. This analysis will include how players react after each point and how they communicate with their partners.

Rexy highlighted that the videos will be scrutinized from various angles, focusing on how players score points, their responses to their partners, and the expressions that kept them motivated throughout the matches. He believes that recognizing what drove their best performances in the past is key for players to apply those qualities at the Games.

Malaysia last won Asian Games badminton gold through men's doubles pair Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong at the 2006 Doha Games.
