PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia is set to implement a range of strategic agendas across its Federal Territories as it prepares to assume the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, according to an announcement by Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories). The initiatives will be executed in collaboration with relevant agencies, aiming to align with Malaysia’s broader objectives for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr. Zaliha emphasized the need for detailed planning and coordination. A meeting with the top leadership of the Federal Territories and associated agencies is scheduled to determine the priorities for 2025. These discussions will seek to integrate existing policies under the C.H.A.S.E City agenda, which stands for transforming Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan into Clean, Healthy, Advanced, Safe, and Eco-Friendly cities.
The C.H.A.S.E City agenda remains a focal point for Dr. Zaliha, as it represents her vision for sustainable urban development across the Federal Territories. She highlighted the importance of inclusivity in implementing these policies, ensuring that all previously established initiatives are considered and integrated.
In a related event, Dr. Zaliha joined over 30,000 attendees at the LAMPU2024 Festival in Dataran Putrajaya to celebrate New Year’s Eve. The festival featured a mega light mapping performance and culminated in a countdown to the new year, capped off with a fireworks display and performances by local artists. The celebration underscores Malaysia’s commitment to cultural and public engagement as it steps into its future role within ASEAN.
