ASEAN 5G Cybersecurity Summit To Draw 2,000 Participants

Kuala lumpur: The ASEAN 5G and Operational Technology (OT) Security Summit, hosted by Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) and CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM), is set to take place from July 15 to 17, 2025, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The event is anticipated to attract 2,000 participants from 14 countries.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, DNB chief executive officer Datuk Azman Ismail stated that the summit will include 500 international delegates, as well as ASEAN regulators and officials. The summit is scheduled to be officiated by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo on July 15.

Azman emphasized that the inaugural summit aims to bring together global experts in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI), alongside key figures from the information technology (IT) and OT security sectors. The primary goal of the event is to address the cybersecurity risks faced by many and to explore potential solutions.

He highlighted the importance of viewing these cybersecurity challenges as global issues rather than problems unique to Malaysia. Azman also noted that the summit would welcome university students and start-up companies to contribute innovative ideas for bolstering cybersecurity controls in the region.
