Kuala Lumpur: Applications for the Program Perantisan Kepimpinan Wanita (PERANTIS) are open from today until March 26. The programme, which has been allocated RM5 million, aims to support 100 women leaders who will mentor over 5,000 participants, said the Women’s Development Department (JPW). Applications, which must be attached with a proposal, can be submitted online at https://iwanita.my.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, JPW stated that the allocation was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the International Women’s Day celebration on March 8, 2024, to help elevate women on the global stage and strengthen leadership through mentorship by accomplished women. PERANTIS offers grants to accomplished women leaders to mentor and train more women, especially young talents, in honing their leadership skills.
The initiative aims to expand the pipeline of women leaders, particularly in decision-making roles, and serves as a platform for knowledge and expertise sharing. The programme also enables participants to strengthen their networks with women leaders across various sectors.
Last year, PERANTIS attracted 1,247 participants under the mentorship of 25 prominent women leaders. For inquiries or more information, visit www.jpw.gov.my or contact the PERANTIS secretariat at 03-83231616/1618/1620/1596 or via email at [email protected].
