Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that his meetings with major companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during his three-day working visit are poised to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance trade and investment cooperation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar commenced the second day of his visit by engaging with senior management from the UAE’s sovereign wealth funds, including the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Mubadala, and Masdar. These discussions centered around boosting collaboration in renewable energy, food and energy security, artificial intelligence (AI), and addressing mutual regional and global issues.
Anwar highlighted that during his meeting with ADIA, led by managing director Sheikh Hamed Zayed Al Nahyan, both parties agreed to continue advancing investment cooperation and build upon the achievements from his previous visit. Furthermore, discussions with Mubadala’s managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak covered both new and ongoing investment matters.
Anwar also pointed out that issues related to investments in renewable energy were thoroughly explored during his meeting with Masdar’s CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi. He expressed optimism that the positive investment momentum from these meetings will persist, fueled by the confidence and commitment of industry players and major UAE companies.
Anwar’s visit to the UAE commenced on Sunday, marking a significant step in fostering enhanced bilateral ties.
