Perak: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his appreciation to volunteers, rescue teams, and the Orang Asli community of Kampung Lubuk Gaharu Orang Asli, Pos Musoh, after female hiker Jaslinda Saludin, who was reported missing on May 24, was found safe this afternoon.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a Facebook post, Anwar Ibrahim shared his gratitude, saying he was relieved that the 49-year-old woman had been located unharmed. 'Alhamdulillah, praise be to God. Thank you to the volunteers, rescue teams, and the Orang Asli community of Lubuk Gaharu for looking after Jaslinda,' he expressed.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Sayani Saidon reported that Jaslinda was discovered near Kampung Lubuk Gaharu, Pos Musoh, around 3 pm by a local resident, Nazri a/l Bah Eng. Nazri communicated the information to the authorities through his relative in Johor. Jaslinda is currently residing at the Kampung Lubuk Gaharu village chief's house as further actions by the relevant authorities are awaited.
The hiker had initially embarked on the Trans Spencer Chapman expedition with 13 others and two mountain guides at 2 am on May 23, following the Pos Gedung-Gunung Bah Gading-Gunung Batu Putih-Kuala Woh route. Reports indicate that Jaslinda and fellow hiker Mohd Hanafi Neikmad, 41, halted their ascent due to health concerns. However, Jaslinda, who is employed in the private sector, reportedly continued towards the peak.
