Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has accepted an invitation from the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) to deliver a lecture at Oxford University. The exact timing of the visit will be determined later.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar announced the invitation in a Facebook post after a courtesy call from the OCIS Board of Trustees at Seri Perdana, Putrajaya. The delegation included notable figures such as former President of Turkiye Dr Abdullah Gul, former Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Dr Mohammed Al-Sabah, OCIS Director Dr Farhan Nizami, and OCIS Fellow Datuk Dr Afifi al-Akiti.
Anwar mentioned that during the meeting, they discussed the development of economic affairs and international relations within the Islamic world. The discussions also focused on fostering dialogue between the Islamic world and the West, and on enhancing the understanding of Islamic economics and markets.
