Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy visit from a Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) delegation led by its chairman Kanetsugu Mike in Putrajaya. During the meeting, Anwar highlighted the MADANI government’s focus on attracting high-quality investments, particularly in sectors such as value-added technology, artificial intelligence, and green energy.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar reiterated the importance of Malaysia’s open economy policy and its strong ties with Japan, which he believes will further enhance the investment ecosystem. He expressed his commitment to fostering an environment conducive to investment growth in the country.
MUFG, a prominent global financial firm established in Malaysia since 1957, is instrumental in promoting Japanese investment in Malaysia’s manufacturing and industrial sectors. Anwar acknowledged MUFG’s significant role and appreciated their recent memorandum of understanding with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). This MoU aims to boost investments in strategic sectors, reflecting MUFG’s commitment to Malaysia’s economic growth.
