Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy call from the United States Ambassador to Malaysia, Edgard D Kagan, who will soon conclude his service in the country. In a Facebook post, Anwar said the meeting provided an opportunity to express appreciation for Kagan's contributions in strengthening strategic ties between Malaysia and the United States before his return to Washington.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, cooperation between the two countries has covered key sectors including trade, investment, education, digital development, technology, and security. Anwar highlighted that the close relationship between the two nations remains vital in driving economic growth and expanding cooperation that benefits the people.
Kagan, who began serving as the 22nd US Ambassador to Malaysia in December 2023 and having previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission, will end his tenure on February 16.
