Seremban: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on voters in Negeri Sembilan to participate actively in the state election, urging them to support the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition for continued stability and growth. The 16th Negeri Sembilan state election is set to take place tomorrow.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized the importance of unity among Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Orang Asli voters in fulfilling their electoral responsibilities. He urged them to provide a mandate for PH to continue its governance, ensuring the well-being of Negeri Sembilan's residents in collaboration with the federal and MADANI governments.

In a video speech posted on his Facebook page, Anwar stated, "I call on the residents and voters of Negeri Sembilan, especially the majority Muslim and our friends among the Chinese, Indians, and Orang Asli, to exercise our responsibilities. If my proposal representing Pakatan Harapan is to be considered, please give Pakatan Harapan the opportunity to continue its service of ensuring stability and driving growth."

Throughout the campaign period, Anwar, who is also the chairman of PH, acknowledged the presence of differing opinions and potential missteps. He encouraged all parties to forgive any lapses and restore amicable relations after the election process. "The Negeri Sembilan election has begun, we have gone through the campaign period and presented various views and I believe that in the process there were sometimes lapses. So let us all together apologise to each other and be friends again because we are fighting among all our friends, Malaysians and voters of Negeri Sembilan," he said.

The election will see 859,760 registered voters, including 7,391 postal voters, casting their ballots to choose representatives for the 36 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats. PH is contesting all 36 DUN seats, while Barisan Nasional (BN) is contesting 25, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) 24, Perikatan Nasional (PN) 11, and four Independent candidates. Barisan Jamaah Islamiah Se-Malaysia (Berjasa), Parti Orang Asli Malaysia (ASLI), and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) are each fielding one candidate.
