Kota kinabalu: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to preside over the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council (MTPMA63) meeting at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) this morning. The meeting, slated to commence at 8.30 am, forms a significant part of the Prime Minister's engagements in the state and is expected to be attended by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, following the meeting, Anwar is scheduled to participate in Friday prayers with the local community at Masjid Jamek Kampung Likas. His engagements will continue in the afternoon with a visit to the temporary evacuation centre for the Kampung Numbak fire victims at the Damai Multipurpose Hall at 1.50 pm. This visit aims to assess the condition and welfare of the residents impacted by the recent fire.
The fire incident on August 30 led to the destruction of approximately 200 stilt houses and resulted in the tragic loss of three lives. Anwar's visit underscores the government's commitment to providing support and aid to the affected families.
