Anwar Ibrahim Hosts Official Luncheon for Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul

Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hosted an official luncheon in honour of visiting Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at Seri Perdana today. The leaders, who arrived together at 2.30 pm, were greeted with 'Welcome to Malaysia' chants by students gathered to receive both leaders and the Thai delegation. A group of dancers from Istana Budaya performed a welcoming dance for the delegation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the luncheon was also attended by Anutin's wife, Thananon Charnvirakul, and Anwar's wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Also present at the luncheon were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, and Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.

Anutin arrived in Malaysia earlier today for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Anwar. This is his first visit to the country since his reappointment in March 2026. The visit aims to further strengthen the close bilateral relations between the two countries and deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
