Anwar Ibrahim Engages in Diplomatic Dialogue with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today held a telephone conversation with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. In a Facebook post, Anwar expressed his congratulations to Vijay on the significant responsibility he has undertaken in serving the people of Tamil Nadu.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar shared that he will be traveling to India this September to attend the BRICS Summit and plans to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also mentioned the possibility of a short visit to Tamil Nadu if time permits. Anwar extended his prayers for Vijay, wishing him strength and wisdom in his leadership role for the welfare and future of Tamil Nadu.

On May 12, Anwar had publicly congratulated Vijay, who is also renowned as a South Indian film icon, on his appointment as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Anwar expressed his interest in fostering closer cooperation with Vijay, who leads the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party. Vijay made a significant transition from a successful acting career to politics, leading TVK to a commanding victory in the state legislative assembly elections.
