Anwar Ibrahim Aims to Make Kedah a Model Stronghold for PKR

Alor setar: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his ambition to establish Kedah as a model stronghold for the party, with the aim of setting an example for other states. Anwar, who also holds the position of Prime Minister, emphasized the potential for recapturing Kedah, citing the current robust capabilities of the party.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted Kedah's historical significance as one of PKR's earliest strongholds and stressed the importance of defending state and parliamentary seats previously won by the party. He urged for a unified front within the party, starting with Kedah, and called for consistent attendance at all State Leadership Council (MPN) meetings regardless of his presence.

Anwar emphasized his confidence in the leadership at the division and branch levels, considering them the backbone of PKR's strength. He called for mutual respect among members and leaders, fostering teamwork to solidify the party's foundation.

Furthermore, Anwar encouraged respect for the chosen leadership and collaboration across various wings of the party, including women, youth, and veterans. He expressed optimism about PKR's prospects, given the challenges faced by other parties and the party's governance record and economic progress under its leadership.

Anwar also invited new members to actively participate in party programs and training to boost their credibility. He underlined the importance of both new and current members in strengthening the organization, emphasizing cooperation at the leadership level as crucial for the party's electoral success.

Currently, Kedah is governed by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state government, led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
