Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has pledged to continue efforts towards national reform by drawing inspiration from Prophet Muhammad's strategies used to establish governance in the Arab region over 14 centuries ago. Anwar made this announcement in a Facebook post ahead of the Maulidur Rasul celebration, underscoring the complexities of developing a pluralistic Southeast Asian nation amidst ongoing political challenges.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted the importance of ensuring basic needs and establishing peace as fundamental to achieving the core objectives (daruriyat) of Maqasid Shariah. Citing Muhammad Imarah, Anwar explained that the Prophet's compassionate governance in Madinatun Nabi prioritized assisting the poor, caring for the vulnerable, and accommodating differing viewpoints. He emphasized rejecting monopolistic practices to promote equitable economic distribution and the significance of fostering a just and peaceful order.

Anwar, who also serves as the Minister of Finance, expressed his commitment to the well-being of all citizens and voiced hope for divine blessings upon Malaysia. He reflected on the historical challenges faced by Prophet Muhammad in building a new administration, noting how the Prophet's just and compassionate governance in Medina transformed the community. Anwar recounted how the unity between the Aus and Khazraj tribes in Yathrib, fostered by the Prophet, contributed to societal stability and progress by overcoming long-standing conflicts.

The Prime Minister also shared a verse from Surah Quraysh, emphasizing the divine provision of sustenance and security from fear, reinforcing his vision for Malaysia's future.
