Anwar Dismisses Claims Of Unfair PKR Elections

Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has rejected allegations that the recent PKR divisional elections were not conducted fairly. Anwar, who is also the PKR president, emphasized that any complaints received regarding the election process were thoroughly reviewed. He questioned the basis of the claims, indicating that the presence of a complaint does not inherently imply injustice. He stated, “Just because somebody complains, it’s not just? No. If there’s a complaint, we take it up. Now international auditors are checking in case there’s any validity. The question should be reasonable and not prejudicial.” Anwar made these remarks following the groundbreaking ceremony of the Rumah Belia MADANI and Rumah Mampu Milik Mukim Batu.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar addressed these concerns amid questions about the integrity of the PKR elections. He assured that international auditors are involved in verifying the validity of the claims. The Prime Minister was accompanied by other key officials, including Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa and Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming.

Dr Zaliha, who also serves as the PKR Party Election Committee (JPP) chairman, reiterated the party’s stance by advising PKR members to lodge complaints through official channels. She emphasized that the JPP 2025 Objections and Complaints Committee would review any submitted complaints to ensure appropriate actions are taken. Dr Zaliha made these statements in response to some candidates expressing dissatisfaction on social media regarding the election results.
