Kuala lumpur: Every head of department and agency must go to the ground to identify problems, understand difficulties, and swiftly resolve issues hampering the implementation of national development projects, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated. He highlighted these concerns during the first meeting of the National Development Action Council for 2026, which he chaired this afternoon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the meeting also addressed development projects that are categorized as troubled, including those experiencing delays and slow spending of approved allocations. Anwar emphasized that the Federal Government had provided substantial development allocations for ministries and agencies nationwide, placing the onus on department and agency heads to ensure smooth implementation.

Anwar stressed, "It is therefore the responsibility of every department and agency head to go to the ground, examine the problems faced and understand the difficulties hampering implementation before swiftly finding solutions." He warned against complacency, stating that satisfaction should not come merely from announced and approved allocations if the implementation on the ground remains delayed.

In his Facebook post today, Anwar also conveyed his appreciation for all parties demonstrating strong commitment to ensuring development projects are executed efficiently and effectively. He reiterated that such dedication is essential to guarantee that every allocation spent delivers tangible benefits to the people and the country.
