Anwar Calls for Pause on Petronas-Petros Discussions for Further Deliberation

Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on all parties to hold off on taking any actions or making statements related to the ongoing issue between Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (Petros). This appeal is aimed at fostering mutual understanding and avoiding premature conclusions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that both the Federal Government and the Sarawak State Government are set to engage in additional discussions to finalize the Petronas-Petros arrangement. These discussions are planned to take place once Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg returns from his official visit to London, United Kingdom.

Anwar shared that he recently communicated with the Sarawak Premier about the Petronas-Petros issue, affirming their commitment to previously agreed-upon principles. The Prime Minister expressed his belief that the matter can be resolved through wise and constructive dialogue, as mentioned in a post on his official Facebook account.
