Kuala lumpur: The Anak Kita initiative has demonstrated its effectiveness, particularly with its 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Acceleration programme exceeding its initial targets, according to Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a report presented by the Hasanah Foundation team and the MADANI Monitoring Unit showed the reading, writing, and counting (3M) intervention initiative has also made significant progress. The Ministry of Education expressed satisfaction with the effectiveness of Anak Kita, nearly a year into its implementation.
The MADANI Government, through the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, launched the Anak Kita initiative last year to tackle student dropout rates, enhance literacy and numeracy skills, and aid students in preparing for the SPM examination. Over the past year, several intervention programmes have been executed successfully through strategic partnerships with Yayasan Hasanah, the MADANI Monitoring Unit, public universities, corporate entities, and civil society organisations (CSOs).
Fadhlina highlighted that the initiative is under continuous scrutiny regarding its planning, execution, and overall impact. She hopes that the programme’s scope can be further expanded to benefit a greater number of students nationwide.
