Ayer Kuning: Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) deputy chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim has called on youths in the Ayer Kuning state constituency to participate in the democratic process by casting their votes in the by-election this Saturday. He emphasized the importance of active youth participation, noting that the younger generation would eventually assume the responsibilities of leading the nation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Kamil expressed concerns about the potential consequences of youth indifference towards the political process. He highlighted that an indifferent attitude could erode their confidence and engagement, despite the fact that they are the ones who will eventually lead the nation. His remarks were made during the Ziarah Kasih MADANI programme in Kampung Changkat Petai.
As the political secretary to the Finance Minister, Muhammad Kamil revealed that AMK had identified young outstation voters and was actively working to convince them to return home to vote. He stressed the significance of the by-election, urging young voters to view it as an opportunity to reject divisive politics and reinforce national unity and a progressive path forward.
The Ayer Kuning by-election presents a three-cornered contest among Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir, Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Abd Muhaimin Malek, and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) candidate Bawani KS. Muhammad Kamil also pointed out the increase in young candidates who won in the recent PKR division elections, particularly in Perak, as evidence of the party’s leadership structure being open to the voices of the younger generation.
