Amir Hamzah Cooperates Fully in MAHB Privatization Inquiry, Says PAC


Kuala lumpur: Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan has demonstrated full cooperation during the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) proceedings concerning the share sales and privatization of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB).



According to BERNAMA News Agency, PAC member Sim Tze Tzin noted that the proceedings, held today, proceeded smoothly, with Amir Hamzah effectively addressing all inquiries from the committee. “Just finished the proceedings; now we need to go through the report. The proceedings went well, (Amir Hamzah) was responsive and answered all questions,” Sim Tze Tzin stated during an evening contact.



PAC Chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin shared on Facebook that this session marked the seventh PAC proceeding in a week, lasting 2 hours and 35 minutes. She mentioned that the PAC would release a statement regarding the proceedings the following day.



Mas Ermieyati previously explained that Amir Hamzah was summoned to further discuss the management of public airports overseen by the Ministry of Finance, MAHB, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). Throughout the week, the PAC conducted six proceedings involving six witnesses: former MAHB CEO Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin, Hong Leong Investment Bank Berhad (HLIB) CEO Lee Jim Leng, and Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP) CEO Datuk Nik Amlizan Mahamed.



The other three witnesses included Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) Group President and CEO Datuk Abdul Rahman Ahmad, Bursa Malaysia CEO Datuk Fad’l Mohamed, and Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) Executive Director Datuk Zain Azhari Mazlan, who stood in for SC Chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi.
