Seremban: Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has made an appeal to the Malaysian Football League (MFL) to reschedule the upcoming match between Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) and Terengganu FC, set for November 22, to be played at night instead of the currently scheduled 5 pm.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aminuddin, who also serves as the NSFC chairman, expressed concerns that holding the match in the afternoon at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi could negatively impact fan attendance. He highlighted that a significant number of spectators may be unable to attend due to daytime work commitments.
Aminuddin stressed the importance of granting the home team, Negeri Sembilan, the flexibility to set a more suitable match time to maximize fan turnout and support. “We are well aware that Negeri Sembilan is actually not ready to hold matches during the day because it will lose many spectators. Most fans are working and find it hard to attend a 5 pm match,” he stated after officiating the Negeri Sembilan Innovation Appreciation Ceremony.
He further noted the potential for evening matches, saying, “I hope this matter will be reviewed. Negeri Sembilan as the host should be allowed to compete at the appropriate time, even at 10 pm. This is crucial to give fans the chance to come and cheer the team.”
This season, NSFC has seen strong attendance figures for their home matches, consistently drawing thousands of supporters. Under the guidance of head coach Mohd Nidzam Jamil, the team is currently enjoying a successful run, securing sixth place in the Super League standings with 12 points.
