Negeri sembilan: Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has accepted the decision by the Unity Government Leadership Consultative Council between UMNO and Pakatan Harapan (PH) to maintain cooperation in the state. He stated his commitment to continue leading and fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him for the stability and welfare of the people. "I accept and abide by the decision and will carry out the responsibility.there is no issue," Aminuddin commented during a press conference following a State Executive Council meeting. According to BERNAMA News Agency, PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki released a joint statement indicating the council's agreement that any decision by the Negeri Sembilan government that might provoke sensitivities or discord should be immediately referred to the UMNO-PH Leadership Consultative Council. The state faced an administrative crisis when all 14 UMNO and Barisan Nasional assembly men withdrew their support from the state government led by Aminuddin, leading to four vacancies in the State Executive Council. However, Aminuddin retained his position with the consent of the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir. Aminuddin was queried about the possibility of the vacant posts being returned to UMNO, to which he responded that the issue was not addressed at the political bureau meeting of both parties and that he would seek further guidance from top leadership. He mentioned that some responsibilities would be reassigned among current council members to maintain smooth administration. He also acknowledged the neutral stance taken by Perikatan Nasional (PN) representatives Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker (Labu assemblyman) and Ridzuan Ahmad (Gemas assemblyman) in the political impasse, highlighting their prioritization of the state's interests. In the 2023 state election, PH won 17 seats, BN 14 seats, and PN five seats in Negeri Sembilan's 36-seat State Legislative Assembly. PH and BN formed the government after securing 31 seats. Aminuddin noted that his administration is preparing several matters, including working papers on new bills, ahead of setting a date for the State Legislative Assembly sitting. On the matter of appointing the new Undang of Sungei Ujong, Muhammad Faris Johari, he stated that the state government would not intervene as it involves customary issues. Regarding the originating summons filed by Datuk Mubarak Thahak and five others against the secretary of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) Raja Norazli Raja Nordin, the DKU, and the Negeri Sembilan government, Aminuddin expressed that the matter would be left to the DKU for response and further action. This follows reports that Mubarak and others sought the minutes of the DKU special meeting conducted on April 17. Discussing preparations for a potential state election, Aminuddin, who also serves as Negeri Sembilan PH chairman, indicated that the party machinery is being fortified. "Now is indeed the season for elections, in Melaka, Johor, Sarawak.we will also be prepared (if elections are called), we're moving towards strengthening the party machinery. Preparations are currently at 60 to 70 per cent," he stated.
