Ambassador Cup Badminton Invitational Strengthens Malaysia-China Media Relations

Kuala lumpur: The 4th Ambassador Cup – Badminton Invitational for Media concluded successfully today at Arena Badminton Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Cheras, providing a platform for media practitioners to engage in sport while strengthening Malaysia-China relations. Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and DBKL for their support, and commended media representatives for their active participation. He also acknowledged the referees, line judges, umpires and tournament staff for their dedicated work.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ouyang Yujing highlighted the historic role media has played in fostering the relationship between the two nations. He encouraged media professionals to continue capturing truth and conveying goodwill, emphasizing the power of media in maintaining the traditional friendship between China and Malaysia. His remarks were made during the Award Ceremony of The 4th Ambassador Cup-Badminton Invitational for Media, which was also attended by Deputy Secretary-General (Strategic) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Chan Hong Jin.

Chan Hong Jin underscored the significance of sports as a tool for unity and diplomacy, noting that badminton serves as a connection between Malaysia and China. She remarked on the participation of over 150 representatives from various media outlets, including Xinhua News Agency, Sin Chew Daily, Bernama, The Star, New Straits Times, and Sinar Harian. Chan highlighted how sports can foster camaraderie, understanding, and collaboration among media professionals and the wider community.
