AmanahRaya Investment Management Halts Dealings in Three Funds

Baku:AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd (ARIM) has temporarily suspended dealings in three unit trust funds it manages the AmanahRaya Syariah Trust Fund (ARSTF), AmanahRaya Syariah Income Fund (ARSIF), and AmanahRaya Unit Trust Fund (ARUTF), effective from yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the suspension affects subscriptions, redemptions, and switching into or out of the three funds. This action is taken in line with regulatory requirements to manage liquidity constraints due to increased redemption requests and heightened credit risk associated with certain investments.

The statement from ARIM emphasized that the suspension aims to protect the interests of all unitholders and ensure fair treatment. This period will allow for the assessment of liquidity, review of investment valuations, and determination of appropriate actions, thereby minimizing the need to sell assets at significant discounts, which could negatively impact the value of unitholders’ interests.

ARIM is actively monitoring the affected investments and is engaging with the issuer, sukuk trustee, and respective fund trustees. Investment valuations will be conducted following applicable policies, fund documents, and regulatory requirements. ARIM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amanah Raya Bhd, which is owned by the Minister of Finance (Incorporated), Malaysia.
