Kuala lumpur: Parti Amanah (Amanah) is examining the possibility of postponing its top leadership election, originally scheduled for next year, as announced by the party president, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. He emphasized that the party’s constitution contains a provision that permits such a postponement, and this issue will be thoroughly discussed during the party’s forthcoming national-level meeting.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Sabu expressed the necessity of considering the current “election mood” before making a decision on whether to delay or proceed with the election. His remarks followed the winding-up session of the Amanah National Convention 2025, which took place today.
Earlier reports indicated that the topic of the party election, slated for next year, was a significant point of discussion on the convention’s second day. The atmosphere reportedly became slightly tense as several delegates called for an immediate debate on the motion concerning the election.
