Kuala lumpur: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) respects the prerogative of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in determining the Cabinet reshuffle, amid ongoing speculation of an impending reshuffle. Its president, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, stated that the party had no intention of proposing any of its MPs for ministerial posts and would leave the matter entirely to the Prime Minister’s discretion.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Sabu emphasized that the Cabinet composition is solely the Prime Minister’s decision. He noted that Anwar Ibrahim might choose politicians, professionals, party members, or even individuals outside the party to form the Cabinet. Amanah will accept whatever decision is made, focusing on strengthening the team in preparation for the upcoming elections.
Mohamad, who also serves as the Agriculture and Food Security Minister, mentioned that no discussion has occurred with the Prime Minister on this matter. Speculation over a Cabinet reshuffle has resurfaced as several minister
s and deputy ministers serving as senators approach the completion of their terms early next month.
Ministers affected include Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar. Anwar Ibrahim, when met by the media after the closing ceremony of the Putrajaya Idea Festival (FOI), jokingly urged them to propose the new Cabinet line-up, saying, ‘Give me your suggestions if you have any.just pass it to me.’
