AM Best To Present At Shanghai International Reinsurance Exchange Seminar

Shanghai: Global credit rating agency, AM Best, is set to deliver two presentations at a half-day seminar organized by the Shanghai International Reinsurance Exchange (SIRE) on April 22 in Shanghai, China. The seminar will feature discussions led by AM Best's Singapore operations managing director and chief executive officer, Rob Curtis, alongside market development analyst, Judy Li.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the presentations are titled 'The Role of Credit Ratings in Reinsurance' and 'How Credit Ratings Are Assigned: The AM Best Approach'. These sessions aim to provide insights into global and Asia Pacific reinsurance trends and emphasize the importance of credit ratings in reinsurance arrangements.

Rob Curtis, who has been with AM Best since 2022, brings extensive experience from Asia's insurance markets. His previous roles include significant positions at Hong Kong's Insurance Authority and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. Judy Li, who became part of AM Best in 2024, focuses on promoting the organization's understanding and its contributions to the insurance industry, including Best's Credit Ratings and Performance Assessments for Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprises.

The seminar will commence with welcoming remarks from the exchange's general manager, Lei Zhao. Zhuoying Huang, head of markets for Europe and East China, will moderate the sessions, which will each conclude with a question-and-answer segment.

AM Best, headquartered in the United States, operates in over 100 countries, with regional offices in cities such as London, Amsterdam, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Mexico City.
