Bangkok: Global credit rating agency, AM Best, has announced its participation in the inaugural Thailand Reinsurance Conference, set to take place from October 30 to November 1. The event, initiated by the Thai General Insurance Association, seeks to provide insights into the insurance markets of Thailand and the ASEAN region, while highlighting Thailand’s role as a regional hub for insurance and reinsurance.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rob Curtis, managing director and chief executive officer of AM Best’s Singapore operations, will lead a session on October 31 titled ‘The changing market development dynamics across Asia and Thailand’. This session will delve into the implications of these shifts for counterparty credit risk, covering aspects such as risk and capital developments, rating scales, and the factors influencing ratings, including balance sheet strength, operating performance, company profile, and enterprise risk management.
Curtis, who joined AM Best in 2022, has a wealth of experience in Asia’s insurance markets, having held leadership positions at the Hong Kong Insurance Authority, KPMG, and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. As a corporate partner of the Thailand Reinsurance Conference, AM Best will also host a booth at the event, allowing delegates to engage with representatives and learn more about AM Best’s offerings, including its Credit Ratings and Performance Assessments for Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprises (DUAE).
