Allocation Of RM25,000 For 100 Asnaf Students To Purchase School Supplies

Ipoh: A total of RM25,000 has been allocated to 100 asnaf (eligible for tithe) students from primary and secondary schools to finance their school supplies this year. Each student received a contribution of RM250 from the Taj International College (TIC), in collaboration with various parties, to purchase school bags and stationery as well as to pay for haircuts.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, TIC executive chairman Tina Tajuddin stated that the company recognizes the constraints faced by the asnaf group, who require assistance for schooling whenever a new school session begins. "We are collaborating with various parties, including the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), which provides zakat wakalah amounting to RM100 to all recipients of contributions," she explained.

Additionally, the initiative also received a donation from the Perkep (Malaysian Police Family Association) vice-president Puan Sri Zalena Mohd Ariffin. Tina Tajuddin mentioned this support during her interaction with reporters at the TIC Prihatin and Community Education Network 2026 and Back To School For Asnaf events. The events were officiated by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, with Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin also in attendance.
